Biomedical Engineering (2010)
Hometown: Naperville, Illinois

I am currently an M.Eng student in Biomedical Engineering. I come to Cornell from Naperville, IL which is about 30 miles southwest of Chicago. At Cornell I am active member of the Orientation Steering Committee, APO (Service Fraternity), The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and ofcourse Biomedical Research for Prof. Butcher. In my free time you can probably find me playing basketball/tennis or relaxing at home.

Together with Ajinkya and Cagatay, I am working on creating a repeatable heart defect model which mimics HLHS via occlusion of an embryonic vessel using femtosecond laser ablation techniques. Then quantifing changes in heart function, blood velocity, and downstream morphogenesis using a high frequency ultrasound imaging system. This work is being performed in collaboration with Chris Schaffer’s Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Main Projects
- Noninvasive Manipulation of Embryonic Development Through Focused Laser Microablation
- Role of Hemodynamics in the Progression of Aortic Valve Disease
